Hi all, just a general question about Diet. I've had largo home a few days and since he has arrived He has always had Kaytee for conures in his feed dish. I have seen him pick it up and he does nibble a tiny, tiny bit from each piece but then throws it way. I'm worried that he's not eating enough. Could it maybe be caused by the pellets being just too hard for him, so he takes a tiny bite and then drops it in frustration?

I don't want him getting sick - I've only had him a few days but love him to pieces already

Was he eating pellets wherever he was before you got him? -Because if he wasn't already eating them you might have to swap him over more slowly and offer whatever it was he was already eating (eg seeds)...

Offer him a dish of fresh fruit and veggies as well :) there are lists on here somewhere about toxic foods which you can read. (sorry, i couldn't find it just now) but is IS there. XD

I can give the breeder a ring and ask exactly what it was that he was feeding him. He does love fruit though - cherries, apples, banana but I don't want him just eating those and ignoring the pellets :) I guess as long as he is eating them he isn't going to starve though!

Hey ----------------!
Excellent!
I think it would be very very excellent to feeding your bird fruits like cherry, banana, Apples, Mangoes etc.
