They sell hulled hemp seeds in the bulk section at my local health food store. They are super healthy (and yummy) for humans too. :-)

I'm wondering why you say they should be fed occasionally and not daily. I always put a pinch in with their fresh food. I have been doing it daily but now I'm wondering if it is a mistake.

I started feeding this to my new 30yo YNA. When I got him I took him to the vet for a checkup, he's in good shape even though his previous diet was bad. Iron level was low..hemp has 45% iron. So when I told the vet what I was doing she felt it was perfect and that between this and the better diet he get's he'll be fine.
I also get ground hemp to add to birdie bread. Check out www.nuts.com That's where I get mine..maybe they sell bigger bags.
