Fawx goes nuts trying to get out of her cage. She sits on the bottom, puts her beak in between the bars and keeps hitting them with her beak. sometimes it seems nerotic. I came home today to bruised spots on both sides of her beak exactly were the beak and bars meet. You can see the the blood under the tissue of beak. I know there is nothing i can do about the beak but what should i look for to make sure it is healing properly? And any suggestions to stop the behavior would be nice to. so i can stop the medical posts. lol

My mitred conure kept putting his beak between the cage bars and rubbing the feathers off between his eyes and beak... so I got him a smaller cage! (went from a 40x30 to a 32x23).

For a macaw, I don't know if it would help to cover the areas she pushes her beak against with toys? Or maybe a barrier of some sort? i.e. acrylic sheets?
