My conure stated to bleed brom his left eye, the one near the injury.his eye is also swollen. And he also started to bleed from his other nostril but cleaned up the dry blood around it the other nostril has blood that is to dried up to clean. I can't take him to the vet till this coming Tuesday. I have no one to drive me like I said I'm underaged. What can do till Tuesday does anybody have any ideas on how to help me in this situation. I love this bird with all my heart it would completely destroy me if he were to die. Thanks for all your help.

Kath, I don;t believe there are any veterinarians on the forum, so anyone offering you help would only be suggestions that might do more harm to your little friend.....it's not that we don't want to help, but it's that we don't want to help, we just don't know exactly what is going on.....a veterinarian is the only person who is going to be able to help your little friend.....I know this does not sound fair, because there are several thousand members on this forum, I'm sure you think somebody here should be able to help but if what happened to your bird had happened to one of ours, we would be in the same place you are right now, worrying about our bird just like you are.....

I really am sorry this happened to your little friend and I wish we would be talking about something funny that your little peach front did.....

If he looks like he is getting worst.. He needs to get to a vet asap.. But if you can't get him to the vet.. All you can do is keep him as comfortable as possible.... Try to keep his nares clear and the wounds clean...Keep giving the antibiotics and keep him warm... If the temp isn't in the 80-85 range he is wasting energy he would be using to get better trying to keep himself warm..

Try not to manhandle him if he refuses to cooperate let him be... Don't stress him..

Okay step 1- Please keep calm! otherwise your conure will stress, stay calm and reassure him in a nice soft sweet tone, sing even. Stay calm.
Step 2 - CALL THE VET!!!! They will direct you exactly what you must do! If he think he wouldn't be able to hold on until Tuesday, seriously, call the vet emergency contact.
Otherwise, if possible use corn flour or just plain flour to clot the wound to stop bleeding. Birds lose blood fast and will die if too much blood has been lost.
Keep him warm and make sure there is food and water right next to him

I'm sorry but thats all I can say.

If it gets worse, like even the slightest worse, CALL THE EMERGENCY VET AND HAVE THEM COME OR SOMETHING, DO NOT HESITATE TO DO SO

Just do your best otherwise, I have complete faith in you! It is vital to prevent anymore bleeding.

Keep us posted!

Look, I've email an avian vet about this for you but I'm sorry to say I can't make any promises, this vet is very busy and my not be able to reply back soon. I'll definitely tell you what he says if he does get round to it. Thats probably the most I can do.

You posted the other night on a bird that had been to the vet and you where having issues with it after you got it home after a 4 day stay Is this the same bird? why haven't you called the vet who treated it?
As in the other posting, stay calm. Drama will not help.
Can you post a picture of this birds injuries? We need close ups shots.

Thanks really. Understand you all are not able to help me. But it's stopped, he's alert, eating and drinking, he even whistles, responds to his name and. I know it's not something to base off. You like saying he's whistling so he's healthy. He's going to the vet in two days for a checkup

Yeah same bird I did call as far as the one nostril having blood dried it shut and the air bubbles she said that they with cleaning it up when he's goes for his check up. And the bleeding in his eye turned up to be from him scratching his wound and its started to bleed. I've been watching really closely and he seems to be doing fine. His left eyes clear and a little swollen.

Yeah he got better he just hurt his wound and started to bleed and the blood got in his eye. I don't like manhandling him. The way they did to give him his mess he screamed and I didn't like that. He won't let anybody else in my family give him meds but me. He puts up a fuse. He's really a good boy taking his meds he stands there and takes his meds calmly.

I will keep you posted I'll try to post pictures of his healing process along the way. He's eating and drinking regularly even took a bath today twice. I'll take a picture tomorrow of his wounds and he's left eye and post it. He's sleeping right now and I don't want to wake him.
