I want to get a custom bird cage cover and was thinking of using Sunbrella at the material as it is very durable. Does anyone know if this is safe to use with birds? Out gassing and consumption safe?

I actually had never heard of sunbrella until I looked it up.
Sunbrella: How to - FAQ

No clue whether it would be safe if your fid starts chewing on it tough. :( They talk about "fibers"...but what are those fibers made out of???

Like Wendy, I have never heard of it, but I would use this link http://www.sunbrella.com/en/contact/ to send them the following information request:

I am interested in possibly using your product in creating a cover for a parrot cage. Could you advise if Sunbrella is safe for use in such an application, which may include chewing, tasting and possible ingestion by parrots.

Please provide me with a copy of your current Material Data Safety Sheet for the Sunbrella product.

Calling manufacturers will usually never get you legally verifiable data, where written answers from a manufacturer will normally get you what you are looking for because their letterhead commits the company to the data they provide.

Good luck.....
