I hope you are on your way to the vet. Perhaps some members will have experience with something similar and may be able to tell you what to expect at the vet, but just the same that should be your first stop.

An anecdote is no substitute for an antidote.

Please let us know what the vet says. In my experience your description sounds like a seizure. I've experienced a daycare bird with a seizure and looked it up after the owner picked her up. Turns out a lack of calcium (either a calcium deficiency or vitamin D deficiency) can actually cause seizures--especially in molting birds. Now. Since she is molting it could also be a vitamin B deficiency. B vitamins are imperative to energy metabolism and cell structure/turnover and I've seen a lack of vitamin B cause seizures in mammals and lethargy/general malaise in raptors. I have never experienced it with psittacines.

Molting is a period of high metabolic demand on the bird's body. What's your bird's diet like? If it is all seeds and no supplemental veggies or anything I would highly recommend either adding nutrient rich items to the diet or switch to a pelleted diet (which still is not entirely complete--though more complete than a seed diet). I've seen people feed pasta with a mix of veggies or scrambled eggs to add a little more protein or carb to the diet.

Again, please let us know what the vet says! I hope she ends up being just fine!

This is an old post and, apparently, the OP never came back but, just to clarify something. This does not sound like a seizure to me but more like a cardiovascular episode (mild stroke or similar -the weakness in the limbs added to the foot paralysis which wouldn't have occurred with a seizure). But, if it had been a seizure, the only B vitamin that affects the neurological system is B12 and birds do not need it (they have enzymes in their GI tract that produce it) and should not be supplemented with it (not only my opinion but both my AVs -I asked them specifically).

That happened to a caique I had, but she died with in 2 hours. The vet said it was a stroke also. Very sad
