I was wondering if there was anything toxic in watercolour paints that would make it dangerous to use in the same room as my bird?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I mean the smell of paint, not the bird being in physical contact with it.

the smell of any paint is toxic to birds they have such sensitive respiratory systems!
Basically, all the information I've come across so far is saying that 'water based paints' (water colours and others that are waterbased) are fine, but - for double safety, I'd advise another room, with the window open.
Oh, and don't use solvent cleaners for your brushes and such!
