Apparently there is a cooking fad going around that is deadly to companion birds.....cooking salmon on cedar planks.....in home ovens.
While I have never heard of this, the article about two companion birds dying from this epicurean feast is described on this website, under Safety Warnings Health - C & B Birds
I realize the moderators and owners may have an aversion to posting someone elses websites, but this is going around with attribution going hither-tither-and-yon and because of the nature of the information, attribution should go where it belongs and if that means my being ostracized from the forums, so be it.
While I need to do some more research, I was of the impression that ingestion of cedar was dangerous and the heating/burning of the phenols produced by the cedar are toxic to many, animals irritate asthma in those with the disease and may even cause asthma in humans.....
