Can you get him into a steam filled room? We don't want him wet, the steam will warm him and open up airways. Once you get him out he has to be kept warm and draft free area.

What country are you from so we can see what you can get your hand on.

If he is so bad you can hear him breath this is not good. He will die if you can not get him to a vet. I am sorry to tell you but I would not even wait till tomorrow! There is nothing you can do at home at this point. He needs fast moving meds and oxygen.

20 min in the steam, then in a vary warm room. In the morning look for a vet. I know he does not look to bad, but our birds hide sickness, so when we can see that they are sick, its life threatening. You can try to offer foods high in vit c. that may help a little. He really needs to be seen so you can get a good antibiotic.

If you cannot get to him to a vet in the mean time this is what you can do:

1. Diluted chamomile tea. It will help relax your parrot. If you can then get him to smell the vapors a bit.

http://www.birds-online.de/nahrung/krankenfutter/tees_en.htm

2. Clean his nose.

http://www.birds-online.de/gesundheit/gesinfektion/erkaeltung_en.htm

3. This is very risky: give a drop of infant medicine every 24 hours. I've had to do this before but it was at the start of when my parrot displayed symptoms. The way you can do it is by getting a drop on a toothpick and offering it to them. Make sure they only consume the drop. This is not recommended but I've done this before with infant cold medicine.

I am glad you have that pet shop. In our country we can not buy baytril over the counter. Keep you boy warm and draft free. Good luck.

He probably has a sinus infection, and we cannot give vet advice over the internet.

Treatment depends on getting a culture of the nasal discharge, and then giving the bird medicine based on what ever the infection is.

Not to alarm you, but in some rare cases this could be a serious respiratory infection of the air sacs, which if left untreated, could be fatal.

I'm sorry I can't give you more advice, but unless there is a culture of the discharge we don't know what to tell you in terms of what medicine to give him...

This requires vet intervention. If there aren't any in your area, I don't know what to do.
