Hi everyone,
So my 7 month old Meyers has starting doing a strange thing with her mouth. When I'm holding her she will stretch out her neck and open her mouth like she is yawning but she will do it over and over. She only does it when I'm holding her and it's not all the time. She doesn't seem to be in pain when she's doing it, I'm just worried there might be something wrong. She is very healthy and normal besides this little tick. Any advise would be greatly appreciate. Thank you in advance.

I don't think so because it's a slow movement like a yawn with her neck extended. Almost like she's trying to clear her throat.

She may have one of the fuzz stuck in her throat. If it gets worse you need to consult a avian vet!

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
Sounds like regurging to me too.

From what I've read, this is normal and may mean that she's just "readjusting" her crop (or the contents of it) - our Meyers does it sometimes, too. They also tend to do it if you touch their ears. But if she does it a lot, maybe a vet check is on order? Or a phone call.
