Is there a good site which shows how to clip wings correctly? Is it the same for all birds? I Googled it and not sure if the images brought up are good or not. I have a macaw and an amazon.

I saw those but was not sure if they were up to date and correct. I wanted to see what the members recommended. I really don't want to call a vet to do it or do a hatchet job by doing it myself.

I looked at it, and they are accurate. I've clipped kiwi's wings twice now I did it exactly as the picture 8th row down last picture on the right. It shows a purple, green, and yellow area. Where to cut and where not to cut. I did cut the two yellow and the green.

My question would be... why do you want to clip? (obviously, I recommend flight if at all possible)

There is this article that recommends clipping secondaries but leaving the primaries to slow a bird down but not to prevent flight. Never tried it myself.

Or there is managed flight....
Managed Flight, Not Wing Clipping

If you are going to clip most of the flight feather off, I would recommend removing two on each wing, then see how well the bird flies. If well, clip one more on each wing and see how well the bird flies. Repeat until the bird can only glide.
