My Senegal parrot Cassie is almost 3 years old now. Gosh time flies and she's been really healthy for me so far... until the scare she gave me last Wednesday. When I put her to bed Tuesday night it was just like any other night, she cuddles and then happily goes to bed. Nothing out of the ordinary. Then Wednesday morning I find parrot vomit flug everywhere and she had watery poo most of the day.

I took her to the vet right away. Cost me $200! They did a fecal test, swabbed her mouth/crop and uhhh an area she didn't like... and the avian vet said he didn't see anything abnormal. He only gave me medicine that would help stop the vomiting (she only did that once). I was so disappointed leaving, spending a lot of money and not knowing why she wasn't feeling well. She was also very fluffed up, very quiet, and not playful at all. And not much appetite. So Wednesday and Thursday, her poo kept being watery and later Thursday I noticed small bubbles in it when it got more firm which I have no idea if that's normal or not. The color of the yellow part ranged from very dark yellow to almost white and sometimes it would be very watery. Friday and Saturday she seemed more herself and her poo seemed a lot more normal consistently.

Now today... most of today, still keeping a close watch, her poo seems normal. Then at about 4 pm I took her with me shopping at the office store and the craft store. She loves it when I take her with me. When we got home at 6:30 she had an extreamly watery poo after she got back on her cage but the next time was more normal. I hate talking about yucky poo but.... should I still be worrying about her health? Not sure if I should get her back to the vet for a recheck or if she's just had an upset tummy this past week.

This week she has been chewing on her wooden bird playground and some cardboard, cleaned chicken egg shells, a tiny bit of my cooked chicken, tiny bit of scrambled eggs, her normal pellet food and seed. I've held off on fresh fruit until I know she's back to normal.

Hello! Allow me to dissect your post!

Hmmm, for starters the poo part seems odd. Could it be something related to the kidneys? If it's not consistent I'd say something is still wrong.

A fluffed up, (sickly) quiet, static parrot is never a good sign! From the sounds of it it sounds like it's improved, but a minimized appetite is still cause for concern. Weight loss is one of the first major signs (besides change in stool consistency and/or loss in appetite IMO) that something isn't right.

I do NOT want to scare you, but I would err on the side of caution and go back to the avian vet ASAP. I would get x-rays done to see that nothing inside is abnormal. I believe the bubbles in the stool could be from gas in the intestines if I am correct—hopefully x-rays come up normal and no further x-rays with barium will need to be done. I also suggest that you get blood work done and send it off to a lab.

Just keep doing what you're doing and make sure your fid is warm and is still eating and staying hydrated!

Good luck! :)

Ditto on blood work and possibly more testing.

Bubbles in droppings is usually a sign of a bacterial infection.

I wouldn't be concerned about one watery dropping after being out and about, but something still sounds "off". Yellow in poop could be a sign of liver problems, too... maybe she ingested something she shouldn't have? (x-ray possibly being a good idea here! if the item is large enough to show up on x-ray)

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
This thread is more than 2 1/2 years old, and I hope Cassie has fully recovered. For the benefit of those perusing for reference, the OP didn't make note of a blood panel test. Hopefully this was accomplished, but would be extremely important if not.
