Hello everyone,
I always wanted a bird. So my husband surprised me with a budgie, but unfortunately he had scaley face mites from the pet store he was purchased. We took him to the vet and had him treated but unfortunately it was too late. It's been about a month and I adopted a baby cockatiel from a breeder. She's the sweetest little bird and I absolutely love her. But I am so paranoid about her getting sick or hurt! I took her to the vet about 5 days after I got her and they said she is very healthy. She's very clumsy and falls off her perches. (She was in a glass tank at the breeders) I know she's a baby and not used to climbing. I put a towel at the bottom and a few liners for cushion, bc I was worried about her hurting herself falling. But today I had her up on her jungle gym and she decided to take off and fell, (her wings are clipped) afterwords she was favoring one foot and it felt very warm. I'm extremely worried about it. I'll be keeping a close eye on her. Is this anxiety ever going to go away? I feel like a new mother!
