Frequent Nose Itching

My Green Quakers Parrot, Pablo, has been itching his nose very often for a long time now. If it was only occasional, I'd understand it were natural, but every now and then he'll rapidly, or furiously start to itching his nose with a claw. He'll stop, sometimes yawn, then do it again. He'll do this several times. One of his nostrils will be wet while the other is dry. This is usually initiated with a sneeze. Pablo'll seem irritated or frustrated after this, like he's in pain, or something's annoying him stuck in his nose. He's behavior has changed also, sometimes he'll be sitting there and seem dopey, fluffed up, and has trouble keeping his eyes open. He will also make a high-pitched grunt now and then. His posture leans forward a bit too, his beak was clicking as he breathed as well, almost like he was breathing out of it. Occasionally, a high pitched sound will be heard from his breathing, usually when he's going to sleep, or being quite.

About 2 years ago, Pablo had an issue with his nose bleeding. We took him to the vet, though he was terrified, so it was hard for the vet to look at him. He said there might be something stuck inside his nose, but deduced that nature takes care of it's animals, and it should come out. Whether that is related or not, we are not sure, since we couldn't really determine if it was external or not. But ever since, he's always had this problem. Also, his cage is quite dusty, or rather there are lots of particles to stir up, especially when his poop dries. It's not very dry in our house, in fact, we live on the coast so the humidity ranges between 50 - 70% normally.

Sorry for the wall of text, I feel as if the more information I give, the more accurate the conclusion will be. I'm worried about what the problem is (if there even is one), and what path I should take to try and fix it. Thanks in advance

I think Pablo needs to visit a good avian vet. Do you have one near? Sounds like he may have an infection. That is not normal, and he really should be seen as soon as possible. Good luck.

No avian vets close at hand, somewhat of a drive to the nearest. Though my mother does not sound too convinced. We'll see how it goes.

I agree with Julie/RavensGryf, I think Pablo needs a vet visit. A good Avian specialist will be able to give him a thorough exam. I would keep his cage as clean and free of dust as possible, if he's having respiratory problems, the air quality may be a factor. Good luck, I hope Pablo feels better soon.
