Question about quarantine...

Both birds are in their own carpeted rooms. Do I need to use a different vacuum in the new guy's room? I was wondering about the exhaust that blows out possibly containing dander or who knows what else. I have a dyson animal which has a hepa filter but it's also 5 years old. I have been extremely cautious with this quarantine and just wondering if this part is necessary. I've been using a hand held vacuum in one room and boy that's a pain!

Thanks!

I use a wet-dry vac on my QT area (mine is in our guest house). It can be brought inside for that purpose if you're QTing inside and taken right back outside where it's kept. I like it because you can thoroughly disinfect it after QT with diluted bleach/water mixture, better than an inside vacuum cleaner. As for the exhaust, yes, inside that's an issue. Close the vent to that room anyway while QTing (room usually stays cool or warm enough with ambient transfer of air). I have that Dyson Animal, too, for inside, and I LOVE it. That thing is a workhorse! Good luck on QT. Bravo to you for doing it and being so conscientious about it.

Thanks. I'll continue to use separate vacuums. Can't wait for this quarantine to be over!!
