Salmonella arizonae?

I recently bought a GCC, but I also own ten reptiles. Someone once told me years ago that even having a bird in the same house as a reptile was a risk, because the bird could catch a deadly strain of Salmonella from the reptile's shed skin. Has anyone heard of this before? Specifically, Salmonella arizonae. I admit, I feel comfortable with the situation because I've had both birds (I'm a falconer) and reptiles under the same roof for years, but I want to learn more. One site I found seemed to suggest only very young birds are at risk, whereas my conure is six months old.

Honestly, there seems to be a fair amount of overlap between bird and reptile lovers, so I was hoping someone here might know more about it. Thanks!

don't know about birds catching the bug but I heard of young kids catching salmonella and having sepsis/brain abscess from their bearded dragons...

so.....it is technically a risk even to owners not just birds, then again, lots of people have reptiles and are just fine....
