Blood and bacteria imbalance

So I took my pineapple conure Cajun to the vet for the first time on Monday. They did a wing trim, nail trim, and beak trim. They then did a fecal smear. They found an imbalance of the "rods" and "cockseyes" to a 60/40 ratio the wrong way ( I don't remember which way it was). So they gave him .1 ml of baytril. He acted funny after the meds but I brought him home. Then after about 30 minutes I went to check on him and he had blood pouring out his nares on both sides. Took him back and they stopped the bleeding and put him on oxygen for a few hours. I brought him home again and noticed a few blood spots on tues but nothing major at all. He is recovering slowly and another vet looked at him and though his throat became bruised. The other vet also told me she didn't like giving him medicine for this imbalance but didn't seem to think that caused the issue. So my question is now do I administer the baytril or doxycyclene for the bacterial imbalance or do I just leave the poor guy alone? There was no yeast found either.

Hello and Welcome to the forums. I'm sorry Cajun is ill. I'm a little confused, did the second vet recommend you stop giving the Baytril? I can't in good conscience advise you to stop giving prescription meds, the bacterial imbalance needs to be treated. I would follow the second vet's instructions. If you're concerned about a drug reaction to Baytril, I would discuss other options with your vet.

Yes the second vet did not want to continue the baytril. I can get him doxcy if the bacteria imbalance is an issue. There was not any yeast, just an imbalance of the rods and cockseyes.
