Unhappy I'm in a nightmare...

Hiroshi has been sitting fluffed up, wagging tail and has labored breathing with a strange "clicking" noise when he breathes. He is constantly sleeping/closing eyes. He is eating and drinking and his poop looks normal. He has no discharge from eyes or nose.

I know I need to get him to a vet asap and I am trying to get money together... unfortunately I just lost my job and am broke. I am trying my best to get money together. Please help me. Is there anything I can do in the meantime to help cure him? I have been giving him steam baths. I am so stressed out, upset and feel guilty. I even posted this on another forum before here because I am embarrassed I have no money to take him to the vet. I am trying my best. I don't know what to do, I'm devastated.

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

oh no. If I could, I'd send money. I'm sorry I don't know what to do. But I'll give you and Hiroshi my strongest prayers, love, and hope for a speedy recovery. I'm so sorry I know someone will chip in to help you.

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

Thanks for the prayers Ap. I am totally miserable and screwed. If Canada didn't have health care for humans I wouldn't be able to pay to save myself. My job loss was unexpected as well as this. I am calling around to family and friends for a loan but everyone is broke I'm heartbroken. I am doing all I can.... Would a drop of Eucalyptus oil in a steam bath help? What about some foods that could boost his immune system?

No, you're not. The worst parront would be someone who doesn't care enough to bring them to a vet.

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

I'm so sorrY Hiroshi is feeling unwell. Keep him warm, so he doesn't have to use energy to keep warm. I've no clue as to what it could be...respiratory infection?...maybe the vet will let you pay installments on the bill. I've read that some do....

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

I don't want to raise your hopes but many animal health care providers will do some pro bono ( free ) care. If you call the vet and ask for office manager and tell her your situation she may be able to help. You may be surprised. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

This is awful. I can understand you feel horrible, but believe me, you are a great parront. You are trying your best to get him medical attention.

As ha been said, just keep him warm and well nourished until you are able to get medical attention for him. I am praying for you and Hiroshi.

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

oh no! Poor Hiroshi, and poor you! Definitely ask a vet about payments, keep him warm and quiet and get him in as soon as you can! I would offer to send a few $$ but the amount I could contribute plus the difficulty of international money transfer (paypal?) probably wouldn't be much more than a gesture... crossing my fingers and sending good energy for both of you.

Re: I'm in a nightmare...

So sorry to hear this. Please call the vets and explain your situation. I am sure they will care for him now and let you pay later. Will pray for both of you!
