My female lovebird has been making a weird noise at night occasionally. It sounds like a wet/snotty beak grind. Is this wheezing? I posted a video to youtube--its really quiet so you'll have to turn your volume up high.

I was very concerned about this about a week ago when she was doing this so loudly at night that it woke me up. When I turned on the light she was tail bobbing while breathing and seemed to be a bit snotty under her nostrils. I spoke to her vet and started her on antibiotics that night. So now she's been on antibiotics for a week and last night made the noise again. Its freaking me out. I'm going to see if I can get her into the bird vet tomorrow but any insight from you would be great.

I can't watch the video, slow internet. However the tailbobbing and mucous would scare me too. Is the vet able to do a culture from the mucous to tell what strain the bacteria is? This way you can make sure antibiotic you are using is effective for that strain.

Hoping since this post is a few days old, things are going better for your little lovie.
