Gold capped conure
Hello,
My ten month old conure is acting a little weird today. She doesn't seem to want to come out and play much and she isn't eating her pellets as much as she normally does. She did eat some veggies this morning though. She still moves around in her cage and hangs upside down but she is fluffing her feathers quite a bit and sneezes a little too. She also is twitching her wings a bit. I'm not sure if it is because she slept a lot later than normal last night? We came back very late and we forgot to turn off her lights when we left so she was still awake. Not sure if that has anything to do with this or is she sick? Should I take her to see a vet? It's raining and very windy over here so I'm a little hesitant.

Thanks

Hard to say. Make sure she is eating. Watch to see if she is still going to the bathroom, if it is smaller than usual, or if there's a lot of urine and very little feces (both signs of not eating). Also if droppings smell or look unusual - these are indicators of illness and I would see a vet.

Do the pellets smell okay?

Carrots/carrot juice are good for their sinus and respiratory.

I personally don't think the weather/bad mood/not enough sleep makes a bird show signs of sickness.

If you decide to go to the vet, maybe tomorrow or when the weather has cleared up some would be a better option. If you can't get there safely, it doesn't help you or your little conure.

Wishing you both the best.
