Took the whole flock to the vet at one time

Yes, we're nuts, but it was time for annual exams for everybody else and the vet wanted to see Charlotte again to make sure things were still going well. Four birds took nearly two hours, and a whole lot of avian complaining. It was the most fun chaos ever. The vet even taught me a few tricks for handling Goofy, who's been difficult for me the entire time I've known him.

So everybody gets a clean bill of health, everybody got manicures and beak grooming (we generally do that ourselves, but the vet tossed that in for free since we were already spending so much there). Dr. J. wants to start Charlotte on Haladol for a few weeks to a few months to see if that will help with some of her anxiety and plucking issues. We went ahead and got it, and we'll see how she does. I wish I'd thought to bring her toys to show off the tricks she's learned. He was spot on that teaching her tricks would keep her mind busy and keep her happier.

And now we're home with only a moderate amount of hearing loss (the car ride was not quiet, to say the least). Vet wants me to call him next week with an update, and will decide when to see her again depending on how things go.

*snort laugh* I can now completely visualize the car ride/ vet visit with the accented narration

And now I'm giggling like a lunatic and probably will narrate my next car ride with birds in a British accent.

Ummmmmmmmmmmm... a travel-related story...

When we moved from New Mexico to Ohio, I rode some 2,000 miles with the Rickeybird in the passenger seat (in his travel cage... my husband drove the Uhaul and towed the other
He screamed HELLO and NO to every passing car, and in the meanwhile, just screamed.
I slept in the car with him... no way he could stay in a motel, not with THOSE little ballistic lungs.
I was shell-shocked by the time we reached our new house...

I'm surprised you don't have permanent hearing damage after all that!
