lovebird ate a bit of spinach

I was under the impression spinach was safe for parrots? Are lovebirds an exception?

Spinach is fine as long as it isn't fed too often because of the calcium absorption issue.
Try kale, they will love that!

Spinach actually has good nutritional value, but, as has been said, it shouldn't be fed too often. It contains oxalic acid, which interferes with the absorption of calcium. But a little spinach now and then is not a bad thing. :)
