I noticed my alex's tongue looks abit weird from where the opening/split is towards the back end of his tongue.

The front of the tongue is kinda the colour of its feet (light skin colour) which seem normal but the end looks to be a bruisy colour purple/red hard to explain!
Anyone own a alex and can confirm if this is normal or not?

It's hard to tell without a picture, but it doesn't SOUND wrong...

If you suspect anything it really is best to get him to an avian vet right away.

That sounds pretty like my Beaks' tongues. When you really look at them, they look as if they've done some injury or something - but they haven't. I think what you're seeing is the normal blood vessels that occur just under the skin (check under your own tongue for reference). If something were wrong, then birdie would definitely stop eating. If he's munching away happily at his food and using his tongue normally to manipulate things in his mouth, then he's fine!

I like to let my Beakies lick a tiny smear of honey from my fingertip. They LOVE it and have never bitten me for honey. :)

The quote looks like some injury nailed it, exactly what I thought, either that or infected, thank you!
