Hi I have a 6 month old female rose breasted. I don't mean to sound weird but her nostrils are dark, she is healthy, active, good eater. Is this normal. I am a bit paranoid when it comes to her as I lost a rosie years ago after a long fight with a terminal illness.

It would be best if you could show us a pic :)

I would also suggest emailing a pic to your avian vet and asking what they think. After all, they are the experts!

When she was seen by vet after I got her, nothing was mentioned about her nostrils

She did see a certified avian vet. No they haven't changed much I don't thinks. Maybe I just noticed them more last night.

While I don't have rose breasted toos, the nostrils look good to me. And what a beautiful bird she is, such rich color!!

Hi, she is lovely. If a cert AV has seen her then just keep an eye and if she is poking it too much/often then make another appointment.

Thank you, I feel better! She is a sweetheart. She hasn't been scratching at them so I guess all is good. Nice to have other parrot parents take a look though!
