Ozzy- 5 year old Dna'd male Blue Front Amazon
Ozzy has decided for the last two weeks that he is only going to eat the red zupreem pellets. I have been wanting to switch him from the fruit blend to the natural one due to his issues with his liver. However, I am now afraid of him not eating at all. He is already underweight and doesnt like any human food or fruits/veggies. He eats nutri-berries and red pellets. Period. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Thank you :)

My birds have their favorites too... they're also on Zupreem. With My one caique he LOVES the purple and green ones. My cockatoo is a big fan of red, yellow and orange. I would recommend soaking them too. Maybe beet juice as mentioned previously, or some cherry juice. Third I would say to try cranberry juice, but I'm not sure if this is bird safe. Maybe some other members can come on this thread and elaborate on that one :p

Thanks for the advice. So you guys feel he is picking the red ones because he likes the color? I thought it was for the taste... but do they all taste the same? I never thought of soaking them, thats a great idea.

No, they all taste the same. The shapes and colors are just different. Sammy U2 only likes grape and cherry! I'll trade ya! LOL!
He will eat no other pellet I have tried, believe me!

This may sound silly but would soaking them not make them go soft and mushy ?
If not then yeah great idea

I don't know about it's bird safeness but what about a natural type essense ( vanilla for example ) like people buy from the grocerie store
perhaps there is a fruit type of you could try adding a few drops so it had that familiar smell
