I don't know what to do

so I have baby gates around Lincoln's cage to keep him and my puppy separated and while I was out of the room he climbed on one and it fell on him. I got him out and checked him over and he appears okay. he's holding himself normally and nothing seems to be hurting when I touch it. But he won't eat. I tried giving him his favorite treats (almonds and some crap food he came with which I rarely ever offer him) and he'd take them and just drop them. Lincoln will do ANYTHING for his favorite foods. I'm not sure if it's just because he's alarmed? should i give him time to calm down and try again or?? vet isn't open on Sundays so I don't know what to do.

edit: oh and the puppy wasn't in the room at the time so I'm not concerned about there having been interaction between them.

Edit: I tried to get him to step up and he snapped at me, not entirely surprised but it's upsetting to see. Tried giving him another almond and he took it and is eating it which is good.

edit: and I thought the gates were stable. He had climbed on them before and it was fine. I feel awful. We're setting up seomthing better.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully Lincoln is fine, but watch him carefully. Best guess is he was startled, hence the reaction. Can he walk and extend both wings normally?

he can walk and he's flapped his wings a bit so I think they're okay. He's not big on letting me touch his wings to begin with but he doesn't seem extra protective of them.

As said, quite spooked, and most likely, picking up on your nervousness!

Lincoln is likely OK, just spooked at that devil gate. Your going to need to keep the puppy and Lincoln separated for awhile, until they react better with each other.

Flboy had a great post. Keep an eye on him but be calm. He might be over it, but can sense there is something off about you worrying.

When constructing temporary enclosures using a product like 'Cable Ties' can be used to keep the ends connected. One cable tie near the top and another near the bottom.

If the product does not have holes to insert the cable ties, they can commonly be drilled without effecting the structural strength of the product.

Creating a Zig-Zag along a straight line and 30, 60, and 90 degree corners when creating a box or circle.

Remember to inform your CAV (Certify Avian Vet) during your yearly visit of the event. That said, any signs of Weakness or Painful places noted with you touch or run your fingers over your Parrot should have you quickly on your way to your CAV. Remember, Parrot's hide their injury and illnesses. Being a watchful Owner is important as always.
