One of her feet seems to be darker than the other. I haven't seen her picking at either foot and she doesn't seem sensitive on either foot I can grab each toe and apply small pressure without any protest from Timneh. She eventually gets annoyed but no discomfort. She holds her food with the right foot usually I think. Should I be making a vet appointment? Thank you for the help.

I have seen this with our Amazons over the years. More commonly when the leg and claw are held-up into the feathers while the other is carrying the weight, if you will. When the leg that has been held near the body is set down, it appears lighter in color.

As you know, the big concern is whether there has been a loss of blood flow and that is a foundation for a fast trip to the CAV. At this point, watch for the next couple of hours (at most) and there should be a balance of color that should return. If not, be ready to be on your way.

If your Parrot has been holding one leg in the feathers, it will naturally be warmer than the one that is being stood upon. This makes checking for a temperature difference near impossible. Now, if none of this is true, i.e., both legs are being used to keep him up right, check if there is a temperature difference. If you note a difference, call the CAV for a phone evaluation.

Has she gotten her foot wet recently? If the powder down has been washed off, it might appear darker in color, and it does look slightly damp to me, but as Sailboat said, keep an eye on it. It might be nothing, but it might be worth a trip to the vet as well.

She likes to hop into her water dish. She's been pretty active today and I haven't seen her with her foot tucked in yet today but we have spent a small amount of time apart today. They still seem to be the same colors and they both feel the same temp but she's on my head playing.

As so well pointed out above, if one foot has been dipped in water, it will look darker! Just another way they try to drive there staff people crazy!

With that curly top you got, there is no way anyone is going to see claws! :DI can see why your Parrot has a love to be on your head. Tall point too watch the world, while keeping one's toes warm and comfy.

At this point, if there was a blood supply issue, there would be some numbness in the leg and your Parrot would be favoring that leg.
