Here's the situation. My husband knows Buzz (CAG) likes bones, so he kindly gave him one that had been sitting out on the counter SINCE YESTERDAY! He had it for about 10 minutes at the point I found out and took it. It looks like he gnawed on it a bit. It was pretty clean before...BUT...how worried should I be?

The bone being kind of clean, likely dry, very little to no meat, and your CAG only gnawing on the outer bone would not cause extensive concern. Some concern, okay. Keep an eye on him for the next several days.

Easy to get really concerned for a ton of reasons, but since we are talking about a 'cooked' bone on a 'dry' counter the likelihood drops to a much lower level. That said, if we are not about a cooked, dry, clean, bone on a dry counter, that changes everything and amps up the concern level.

Thanks. I'll keep an eye on him and not worry too much yet. I really wanted to yell at my husband "what were you thinking!" But considering his good intentions it was "If you wouldn't eat it, don't feed it to the birds". Hopefully it remains a teachable moment with no ill effects.
