I saw an advert for an Amazon and noticed it had unusual yellow feathers.

Is this liver problems from poor diet?

Or is it just some kind of mutation?

I think it's just normal coloration.
could be a hybrid or mutation.

it looks healthy for whatever kind of parrot it is.

Just my opinion.

It's just that every red lored Amazon I've seen is green....

Could be due to liver problems, malnutrition, pellets (yes, pellets can cause health problems), some sort of virus (I forget which viruses cause abnormal colouration), colour mutation, or hybridization. You couldn't know for sure without a comprehensive blood panel.

That’s a little too...patterned.

The word pied comes to mind. I think this is just a mutation. No liver problems.
