Cairo the Ekkie!
Our vet has commented that Cairo is incredibly food-motivated for a parrot. That may be true, since he's so eager to learn tricks for treats (going with a seasonal pun here).

Today we were trying to learn "put". And whenever he learns new tricks, he gets extremely excited (beyond the normal excitement for performing tricks). At one success, I rewarded him with a treat (a small portion of a husk-less sunflower seed). He took it and continued to run around on the table, then made a snort (sounded almost like a sneeze) and out came a treat! And it was wet with his saliva!!

He seems normal - he kept running, picking up, and tossing cups around. But wow! The little guy needs to slow down when he's pigging out.

How concerned should I be about this? I'm thankful he at least can cough things up instead of choking on it, but it's a bit scary to think if he doesn't have that reflex.
