Bella is a Hahn's Macaw. She is fairly petite but she should be in the 130-140 gram range. I am working with our avian vet to get her to gain weight but I needed somewhere to track it! She has steadily gained weight in the past 3-4 weeks so I am very proud. She has been blood tested for any sicknesses and is in great health according to the vet. She is just VERY active so I tried to feed her a little more than I would to another bird who is at an average weight. Gotta say I am proud to see her gaining :)

Oh & we also cover her cage for an hour a day for "nap time" so she will slow down and not be so active during that time & we let her sleep for atleast 12 hours a night :)

Is Bella still only a baby?. I have a young pair of Hahn's & they seem a bit on the light side. My older boy is an adult & is a good weight. It seems they take a year or two to fill out & gain their adult weight.

Bella is currently 5 months old so she is definitely still a baby :]
