Can I use pine essential oil diffuser

I haven’t used any scents since Timneh came home to me. I’ve been using my diffuser as a humidifier for her. I was wondering if I can use my pine essential oil this year. It is a couple years old now. Just kind of having a rough time this year and that smell always makes things seem better to me. Here’s a couple of pictures of my buddy stretching. Thanks everyone.

No. Essential oils are generally bad as whole IMO but pine fumes aren't very good either.

Absolutely not! Pine oil in-particular is extremely toxic for birds to breath in...There are a few essential oils that aren't toxic to birds, but they are few and far between, and honestly I don't think it's worth the risk, considering how sensitive their respiratory systems/air sacs are...It's just not worth the risk...But absolutely no Pine oil, Cedar oil, Tea Tree oil, etc. These are the most-toxic to birds...

Oh well thank you for the heads up. A small price to pay for all the love she gives. I do miss my candles and stuff though. Lol

We believe that scented candles contributed to our BeeBee parrot passing away unexpectedly. We threw away dozens of them.

NO, no no...No essential oils (it's a sketchy industry and their respiratory systems are sensitive to things that don't bother people)...pine is ESPECIALLY dangerous (I wish we could, because it is one of my very favorite scents).

Oh I miss it too...During the very short time-period that the only birds I had were my Budgies, who lived in the aviary in the walk-out level of my house, I very often burnt candles up in my master-bedroom, and my favorites were the scents that come out in the fall/winter! Pumpkin Spice and specifically the Pine/Fir Tree scents were always my favorites...What is that one that Yankee Candle makes (I think), I think it's called "Balsam Fir"? I LOVE that one! I actually have a hanging air-freshener that is the "Balsam Fir" scent in my workshop (garage), as that's really the only place that I NEVER take any of the birds to due to the other unsafe chemicals, cleaners, etc. that I use out there...So it's the "Scent-Zone"

I wish that the "essential oil" industry would stop labeling oils as being "Organic", "All-Natural", or my favorite, "Therapeutic Grade"...People read that and they not only think that it won't be harmful to their birds, but they think that it might even be beneficial!

The other thing I see a lot of people posting online in other parrot-forums is that "It's okay to burn candles around your birds as long as they are Soy-Candles". I see this written all the time, all over the web, and I have never been able to understand the logic behind it...Maybe I'm missing something, but why would you think that a SCENTED candle would be safe for your bird to breathe-in just because the wax is made of soy? THE OILS AND WHATEVER ELSE THEY ADD THAT MAKES THE SOY CANDLES SCENTED AREN'T MADE OF SOY!!!!

SMH...
