Kiwi The Lovebird
Hey everyone! I have noticed my Lovebird Kiwi's feathers have been coming in "wiry" and just not too healthy looking. Last trip I took her to the vet, they said she was plucking...Sadly I moved to an area where the nearest bird vet is 3 hours away. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation as to "vitamins" or a food that can bolster her immune system, feathers, health, etc.? Something I can put in the water or mix with her food?
I have been desperately trying to get her to eat veggies and fruits, but she is DEATHLY afraid of anything other than seed and groats. (She will literally hyperventilate and scream at the edge of her cage if I put anything other than seed in her food bowl). I have tried the fruit flavored "pellets" from Kaytee, but she doesn't seem to like them too much either. I'm just really concerned shes not getting the vitamins and nutrients she needs.

Have you made birdie muffu with chopped up veggies and pellets hidden in?
Can you hang the veggies outside of the cage or treat them like toys?
Will she steel from your plate? Lordy I'm sorry I started that with my birds, but it works they come flying to steal from at every opportunity!! Lol
You can soak pellets in warm water and mush into oatmeal or scrambled eggs.
Sprout some seeds it activates some nutrition.
You can scrape out seeds from cucumber, squash, zucchinis, peppers see if she will try that.
