The only Avain vet in our area accepting patients is about 2 hours away in a highly populated area with no guarantee of access. I'm hoping to get on a call list when the closer one opens up spots once again. But are there any natural remedies for various issues that can be added to the first aid kit items listed in the sticky post?
At this point I may as well just go to school for avian care with all there is to learn LOL.

With rats, grapefruit seed extract, colloidal silver, and an anti viral were always really handy... anyone have any info about using those things for prevention or emergency I cant get to the vet soon enough remedies? Or can you expand on those?

Umbrella Cockatoo- 15? years old..I think?
Corn starch for clotting a broken blood feather.
A tweezer/pliers in case you ever had to remove a feather.
A towel
Vet-wrap
A syringe in case of emergency (feeding).
No sugar added, no salt added, no preservative/citric acid baby food for feeding in a pinch
An air purifier (non-ozone producing, non ionizing)
A humidifier
F10 SC (the yellow/clear kind) for cleaning cage etc.
Potentially a Teflon-free (NO PTFE/PFOA/PFC) heater---I have yet to find one, but a sick bird needs to be kept warm...they also sell those in-cage warmer plates but I have never used one.
Maybe a stainless file for nail/beak issues
