There is a wild dove that sits on the ground and let me walk by it. When I tried to capture the dove - the dove flew low but high enough I couldnā€™t capture it. I have been putting food out in the ground and have a dish of water. I at first thought the bird was sick but seeing it fly today - the little dove has a hurt wing. Is there any kind of food you all recommend to put out for the dove? Or a supplement to stick out to help the little dove mend? Itā€™s freezing I wish I could put something out thatā€™s warm. Today it had two other doves with him (the past week Iā€™ve only seen him by himself).

I did stick warm water out :/

I feed wild bird millet mix the doves seemnto like it.

If you can put straw on the ground that might help.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Thank you for caring, hopefully the wing can heal, but hard to know without examining. Definitely needs mobility for survival though.

If the wing is likely not broken, but sprained, there is a change that it will mend and with additional time, may be able to fly.

A quality group of seeds and greens will clearly help.

As stated above, the straw will provide some warmth and a place to hide.
