Here's the part of having animals I hate the most, when one's very sick. It's one of the budgies I moved downstairs not long ago. He's puking and not eating.

Sister waited all day to tell me he wasn't doing well -_- So now it's too late to see if I can get an appointment for him tomorrow. (get that: I can get charged 35 bucks just to LEAVE A MESSAGE outside business hours.)

I've moved him to the small cage far away from his buddy. He's in a warmer room now. He's still perched but he's failing. I've put foot as close to him as I could. He's fluffy, and actually let me handle him (THAT'S not normal.) and he'd keep puking if he had something in the stomach. The poops are nonexistant at this point, just some white and some bits of yellow that I saw. It stinks, I feel helpless.

Now I wonder, if he were to die during the night, what should I do concerning his buddy? Do you guys think it could be contagious? If he lives through the night I'll make sure to make her call the vet in the morning.

Puking does not sound normal. Did he eat something he's not supposed to???? Do you have a clamp shop light? Use a 60w bulb on the cage and put towels around it to keep him warm, take him to the vet first thing in the morning!!!!

Chances are it IS contagious and I'd take his mate in as well to get checked.

my male budgie did exactly the same thing to us a few months ago,he didn't eat for 3 days he had no poo just water and he was regurgatating-vomiting not sure what he was doing? our local vet, not a bird vet said it could have been worms but i worm him or it could have been something he ate like too much spinach? but i think it was a hormonal thing, he is totally in love with a toy in his cage.. all i did was syringe water with some honey in it down his throat every hour or so.. he is fine now i hope your bird is going to be ok

Well I'm stunned, this morning he looks fine as if nothing happened when yesterday night he looked as if he was gonna die. There's poop in the cage so he ate something during the night. It's a bit loose and greenish but if he didn't eat anything yesterday I'm not surprised.

...You know... he's SENSIBLE to stress. As in it was the first time I ever saw a bird puke severely just from me grabbing him and changing him cages. He does that a lot whenever I bother him. Maybe he got a shock?

Still I think I'll try to convince her to get an appointment anyway even if things are looking up. Bad thing is that the vet closes at 1 today and then won't be open till monday. It'll take many days just to get there.

I just went downstairs to take a look back at him and I noticed his cere is all dirty as well... What's this? Some sort of crusting? And his feces are still green.

I told her to call the vet today and she did but when they told her to bring him in she backed away. I'm sorta annoyed right now. Looks like I'll have to handle it.

how old is he??

Good question. I actually have no idea... He was given to me by a neighbor about half a year ago.So maybe a year and half.

all the budgies i have ever had, above there beek has gone like that as they get older it sounds exactly the same as what my budgie did to us, just don't give him any greens, try apple and just seed, maybe buy a seed bell with honey

When I got up this morning I went to wake up Gus and realized he had puked all over himself again. Which was odd since he was really starting to look better. So I called my sister at work and told her that it's enough time wasted, she needs to get him to a vet ASAP. I called and got a vet appointment for 7PM tonight. They just came back.

Apparently he has a (I'm trying to translate, we're french canadians) ton of bacterias in his crop that causes irritation and makes him puke constantly. So she put him on antibiotics for 7 days, two times per day. I wonder, is that what they call Avian Yeast Infection?

Anyway she said also that there is a potential illness transmissible for humans (detectable for a measly 87 bucks.) that he could have so if we get sick we need to tell the doc we have a sick bird. How strange. :x
