Thought I would share this with you guys, I'm not sure if any of you pendant sex your birds? It's fun, you can test it on you and your friends before moving on to your birds. I use it all the time, and have never had it be wrong.

What you'll need-

A pendant. Any necklace with a single something dangling from it. Whatever the design is it needs to be even, so a starfish pendant wouldn't work. But a single diamond or something symmetrical will.

A bird or person!

How to do it-

First try on yourself or friend. Hold the pendant right above your wrist. If your doing a bird you can hold it right above their back, or hold them on their back and do it above their stomach.

If the pendant swings in a circle it's a female, if it goes back and forth in a straight line it's a male.

Try it out and let us know if it worked or not on your birds! I do it with my pairs and chicks and so far it hasn't failed me. It has something to do with the gravitational pull and the pulse.

Haha... ok ok

Honestly, even my little Paco doesn't mind. It takes just a second and I've never had a problem with it. But I could see where it sounds difficult.

Well true to form of a grey it scared her to death and she flew and flew as far away from that thing over her head as she could. However Rosie DNA F - pendent went in a small circle.

It's a spin off the magnet trick, someone suggested it may work with a pendant and indeed it does. I just can't bring myself to pluck a feather or clip too short (call me a wussy lol). So for now I stick with this :D

I will have to give this a try out of curiosity! I have heard the same thing to tell if an unborn human baby is male or female too.

Rosie recovered quickly. She needs to be exposed to different things and that was very different. I did it very slowly and she then wanted to play with the pendent.
Am I the only one who tried this??

I tried today, and I THINK it worked, but thought maybe I was just seeing what I wanted to lol. I think I will try again tonight with some millet distraction. He just wanted to see what's the shiney thing? and why is it over my back? lol

Haha! Some pendants work much better than others. A good pendant will go in LARGE circles that are much different than the straight line. Make sure the pendant part is symmetrical and the weight is distributed evenly through the design. I usually test a few out on my wrist until I get one that gives out big circles and nice straight lines.

I tried twice... and I think Max is a boy LOL The first time wasn't very conclusive.

Max wasn't very willing to let me try the first time. However the second time, he was inside his cage and I dangled it over his back and he just looked at me like I was crazy lol
