What does it mean when our parrots bob their heads up and down? Apple does this when he hears unfamiliar sounds, music, or just strangers talking. He'll fluff up and do this If I chant " Poop poop poop poop poop...".

Aw, well i'm glad he does this and showing me he's happy. What if he does it around strangers but hates them? He'll bite anyone that isn't me and sometimes bobs his head if he hears someone speak that he doesn't know. Well as long as it's nothing negative that will threaten his health. :D Thank you!

all my birds that have done it have been happy when they do it, My water dragon it was a form of agression... i had a friend who thought it was funny to "call on the lizard" with head bobbing.... then he asked to pick him up and got a nasty bite LOL it was rather funny, don't call on the lizard he WILL be more dominant then you.

Rosie bobs her head if she is doing something she likes or eating somthing she loves. It must be a happy thing.
