Rest in Peace Rio
I was having a glass of cranberry juice tonight. I only buy juices that are 100% juice, no sugar added, only sweetened with other juice kinds. I put a little on a teaspoon and offered it to River. He loved it! He made his "happy chirps" while he drank it all down. What kinds of juices to your fids seem to like for a treat?

lol nut just likes to stick her head into our glasses or tea mugs (so i never leave a hot drink unattended)

sometimes as a treat i put ice cubes into her water dish

she's also partial to white tea and any warm liquids

she is currently on a quest to sample what liquid is in a wine glass, but to no avail!

My fids like Oceanspray Blueberry juice, Pomegranate juice, and Apple juice. You can give it to them on a spoon, like you've said. Or to get picky eaters to eat pellets, try soaking the pellets with a bit of juice. And if they are already eating pellets, adding juice will give them a nicer taste. Plus, they'll get the anti-oxidants, etc. in juice.

We give our birds "Naked Juice" for a treat when we can afford it, LOL..Be very careful about teaching your birds to drink from a cup or glass, back in the day when i was a party animal in college and living in the Panama Canal Zone i had many friends who lost their birds by drowning in drink glasses after a party. I never let my fids drink from any cup or glass.

I never allow my animals to drink from my cup ever but they're sneaky!!! I left Willie alone for just a min and he got on the end table drinking my wine from my glass. He crawl down from his cage, crawl up the couch, then proceed towards the end table by the couch and sipping on my wine. I was shocked! I know its not funny but he was one happy drunk bird and he danced and was being extremely funny....we never leave any beverages or food sitting unsupervised since!

I have a juicer I use for making juice from our raspberries. I think I'm going to try carrot juice for Merlin. He likes to try to drink from my glass, I really think its just cover for spilling water all over everything.

I just bought fresh cranberries for Puck today... he loves them just as much as any sweet berries! I'm going to dehydrate a bunch of them so I have no-sugar-added cranberries year round for him!

I have already said Puffin will do just about anything for a blackberry or Kankleberry and his next favourite treat is the gourmet cucumbers, they are mini cucumbers and he goes crazy when he sees them.

My husband thought he had it hard making cups of tea for me but Puffin has taken it to a whole new level now....as soon as he hears hubby come downstairs in the morning he says "good morning" followed by " Dad, I want a cup of tea.....awwww dad I want a cup of tea please" and he will keep saying it until hubby turns the kettle on ( I have trained him well hey!)
