I'm curious about other members birds' phobias. Geordi is scared to death of-- for lack of a better term-- "fabric blobs." so-- if your sleeve is covering your hand, forget it. Petrified, heart-wrenching screeching. And worst of all is the fabric hidey-hole tent I bought him a while back, he screams if he even sees someone holding it in his vicinity (anyone want it, by the way? :)

Keats (budgie) born Feb. 18, 2011, and Raphael (budgie) adopted July 3, 2011. Finn, a Brown-Head Poicephalus, born January 4, 2010, has also joined the family!
I think Finn is quite unnerved by my red coat - oops! I bought it before I had a parrot and didn't know red could be a scary color.

Louis "Mr Parrot" , the Alexandrine
My Alexandrine is dead scared of this "Monkey Soft toy". I have no idea why. But as soon as he sees it he screams and everything. xD

every thing scared nut at the start, especially the hoover! she would nearly thrash herself against the wall when she saw it, but i left doors open for her, so when she saw it she had an escape, also as my son an man never bothered reacting with it, she now will sit on top of her cage or curtain pole when i hoover

oh and if offending item is smaller then her, and she thinks she can take it on, she will destroy it

so as for the happy hut, leave it in view, away from geordi, nuts had some negative reactions to some of her new toys, but i do same thing an she comes around, or finds ways of destroying them :) before i get them in her cage

Funny the different things they are in fear of. Rosie is very afraid of pine cones for some reason. She is also very afraid of my plastic laundry cart that rolls. Cricket is in fear of nothing as most conures are.

Quaker parrot, Ralph
There doesn't seem to be too many things that really frighten Ralph. My loud sneezes used to startle him, but since he learned to do an imitation sneeze, he isn't bothered by my sneezes any more. He can be scared if a person near him makes a sudden, unexpected move; if that happens, he flies to his cage and Quaker-curses. He is a little intimidated by cardboard boxes and will back away and squawk at them. He's another parrot who dislikes the color orange, but it's more a matter of hating anything that's bright orange than being afraid of it (orange pellets are an exception-- he eats those). At one time, he was wary of shadows on the walls, but now he's fascinated by them-- especially his own. :D

Billie is afraid of towels or anything towel-like, and any sudden loud noise makes him take off flying like a lunatic, if someone sneezes or the dog suddenly barks for example. Other than that he is pretty fearless for being such a tiny bird. My bf just bought a gun for his ps3 and was playing a hunting game earlier and billie flew over and landed on it and started biting the barrel of it as he was playing, I got some pics, I'll have to post them later, I'm downloading some stuff right now and i don't want to have all of that running at one time.
Ziggy isn't really afraid of anything except attention, like, if you walk up to her and start talking to her, she shakes like a leaf :/ Which is weird because she also hates being alone, if we leave the room she screams like someone is killing her lol. And the budgies, well, they are pretty much afraid of everything except each other

Hahahaha...well, one day I was sitting at my computer with Franklin (YSGCC) I wanted him on the back of my chair, NOT on my keyboard. He kept climbing onto my shouder, down my arm, to the keyboard, I'd move him back..I had a towel draped over the back of the chair with treats and toys to keep him occupied, but he wanted nothing to do nwith that that "boring" stuff. I was writing something down and I took the cap off the pen...it was just a clear plastic cap, I thought he'd like to hold it and chew it...he shocked me, for when I showed it to him, he FREAKED OUT! He ran up my arm onto the back of the chair...I thought...goofy bird, so I set the pen cap with his other toys thinking he'd get curious...nope he was so freaked out by it that he fluttered to the ground. I picked him up and he was absolutely terrified! ROFLOLOL!!!

Yea...my bird is terrified of PEN CAPS! Yes...even still! ROFLOLOL

Toni, that is hilarious to me, in light of the fact that the first time we saw Geordi play with anything, it was a PEN CAP.

Darcy (Golden-Collared Macaw), Puck (Caique - RIP)
Puck is terrified of ceiling fans and helicopters! One time an osprey (sort of like an airplane/helicopter hybrid) flew close over us while we were driving, and he did DANGER DANGER calls for a few minutes after it was gone. Yesterday there was a ceiling fan on a TV show and he didn't like that either. LOL. He did an an alarm call once when somebody was flying a remote control plane, but he doesn't when he sees large birds...

The last few days he's been afraid when I take a shower. It's pretty odd.

He's friendly to most people but occasionally skittish, usually with children and tall guys.
