Hey guys. Just picked up a tiny bag of Zupreem Pellets, the rainbow ones, to see if Tyler would eat it. They had been on Kaytee Exact many many years before and I thought he might recognize it because this looked similar. He is nibbling so thats good..
Rocky had been ignoring the Harrisons lately but dug into the Zupreem like he hadn't eaten in 567 years. Madison ate quite a bit of it and also a little bit of the Harrisons.
I noticed Zupreem had several different types, one spicy type looked neat and they also have a tan colored one that said 'all natural'. I thought I'd try small bags of each and if they like them all, mix 'em up!
If they seem to like this brand better I would use it instead of the other pellet although I'd really prefer to feed the Harrisons to them. Tyler will NOT touch the harrisons.. (except to fling it across the room) so this brand is definatly better than just seed.
Do you guys think this is a decent quality food? It smells like fruity cereal, for gods sake!
Thanks!

Zupreem is a great brand. A lot of people here on the forum feed their birds Zupreem. Probably the only drawback to the Zupreem is the artificial flavoring that some people don't care for. Of course that's what the 'natural' ones are for.

I love the smell of the FruitBlend too! The smell of the WildnSpicy I don't quite care for.

If any of your fids don't eat a certain colored pellet, don't worry. Sisqo doesn't like the orange ones, and a few people (Tex, Darkchi, or Minzer...I forget) have birds that don't like the purple.

Congrats on finding something your fids like!

Our birds love zupreem. And you are right Nicole, its Hamlet that didn't like the purple ones. Mac on the other hand loves them. They get a mixture of harrisons and zupreem for their pellets. They eat mostly the zupreem, but will sometimes pick the harrisons. Sometimes, when they have a mixture of other goodies like dried fruit and veggies, they will actually choose the zupreem to eat!

Ok, thanks. Thats a relief! I'll try and get some of the other types later on in the week when I'm able to get to the store. Thanks guys!
Tyler grumbled a bit this morning when he saw what was in his dish but he played with it. He walked away but.. I keep seeing him peeking at his dish so he's interested. I think maybe he doesn't want me to see him eating. lol
Rocky likes the yellow ones best, btw.

Flyte, just a heads-up ... if poo starts changing color don't get to worried about it the pellets will change the poo color ... should go orange if anything ...
