I've been debating getting harnesses for Pepper and River. Part of me wants to get them so I can take them outside and let them fly a bit and enjoy being outside not in a carrier. The other part of me is concerned about safety outside. Mainly I'm thinking about hawks. They are definately around here, I saw one swoop down in my backyard one day and grab something. It was too quick to see what it had, squirrel, another bird, etc. I don't know if a hawk would be brave enough to make a grab for a bird flying or sitting on my shoulder while a human was standing there or not.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVe to bring my Macaw to the barn with me in her harness, though she can't fly. But she would have to be on my arm t he ENTIRE time, or at least within a 3 foot radius of me.. or under shelter. We have bald eagles all over the place. They are beautiful birds, but my Macaw would be a great snack!

American Bulldog Mix,
I have never see. A hawk but have bee. Told there are plenty. Ear where I live. We take my macaw out in her aviator. She loves it. She can't fly too well but she is getting better. Most birds won't leave your arm if they see something like a hawk and you will always. E watching too.

I did have the misfortune of seeing a hawk come down 10 feet from me to grab the baby ground hog that was living in my shed. Pete is terrified of them, and I can't blame him. We have so many I could walk outside right now probably and see one flying or sitting on top of a utility pole.

Hmmmmm I'm thinking I should just stick to flying is done indoors and keep them in cages outside.
