Wow!

Now, do you serve it all in one sitting or do you freeze it? How long is it good for in the freezer?? :)

It made a big bowl full. I portion it out into single servings and freeze. To portion I put spoonfuls onto a heavy plastic sheet and freeze. Once it's frozen, I put the pieces into a big freezer bag. I pull each bird out a serving and mic a few seconds then serve.

Such an awesome birdie mom! :D

Can you find recipes for "birdie mash" online, or is it kind of just make up whatever you want? Lol!

You can find specific recipes online. Mine is different each batch, so is my birdie bread. Some things are always in my mash (like the sweet potato), and some stuff is whatever I happen to have around at the time.

You really get to know what would blend up in the food processor and what is most nutritious for birds. If you go to the Phoenix Landing web page book store there is a receipt book for sale. I have one. Also I attended classes on nutrition and they did a section on mashes. RM have you noticed they eat the mashes best when you have just made it? Rosie gobbles it off a spoon like a champ. Nice job!!

Yep! River scrambled right over to his bowl to get some nice fresh and warm. He started gobbling it down making his little happy squeals lol. Pepper eats it, but not with quite the gusto that River does.

Spiritbird, is there anything you think would be good added or deleted from this mash? I didn't put too much juice in because of the sugar. It's 100% juice though, no added sugar. I just use a bit because it seems to help the processor blend better.
