I have a 4 year old green check conure named papi. Recently I am having to spend more and more time away from home during the day and I am considering getting another bird to provide a little company during the day. The thing is I tried before to introduce a new friend on two occasions with other conures but my papi is very teritorial and didnt take kindly to this. Basically he paid little attention to the other conure and when I eventually tried to introduce them outside the cage he attacked when the other bird got near. Im thinking now of getting a couple of budgies or canaries to provide a ittle noise and company during the day. At no point would I consider letting them out together as I know my conure could do serious damage if he felt in danger. Do you think having a couple of other smaller birds nearby will provide a little stimulation or am I just setting myself up for a constant screaming match between the cages!!! My conure is normally very quiet. Sorry for the long post but any advice would be great. Thanks.
