Mebbe both.
A guy in Downieville, Calif, showed me a pic from his wildlife camera. He had put meat up a tree to get bear pix. Instead, he got pic of a fox climbing straight up the tree trunk. Who ever heard of a canine doing that? He did get bear pix, too.

I work in a photo lab in CVS and I had this one guy who would come in every day to see what animals he caught pictures of. He had it set up in a field behind his house. He was always looking for deer pictures as he is an avid deer hunter. Unfortunately for him he didn't get the deer pictures until after deer season. He got plenty of pictures of turkeys. One of the pictures shows this turkey looking right at the camera like 'HEY WTF IS THIS THING?!' while all the other turkeys were going about their business oblivious to the wildlife camera. All the employees and customers had a great laugh over that picture.
It's amazing what kind of candid animal pictures you can capture with them.
