I didn't realize some of the things I say or noises i make, until we had parrots. They pick up some of the funniest things!

Our U2 has started saying "dooka dooka dooka dooka doooooo". He will call this out until one of us calls it back to him! It is very cute and funny.

Our amazon will say " stop talking Gobble Gobble". I am Gobble Gobble and this is usually said when I am talking to my husband, or her Da!

Everyday they crack me up with the things they say! What are some of the funny things your fid says?

13yr. old male umbrella cockatoo,
we call him Amigo!

7yr. old Goffin cockatoo, she IS Sassy!!
Sassy's laugh is hilarious! She'll get everyone in the room cracking up, right along with her! She actually has quite the vocabulary and an awesome "wolf" whistle. What's funny, to me, is that it just comes out of nowhere,,usually when she's off playing on her own. Amigo's only words are "Hi there"! Lots of sounds but those are his only words.

Mickey - Female U2 age unknown. DNA test came back...he is a SHE,

Tinker 12 yr old female GCC

Chiquita 16 yr old Female U2 and Junior 16 yr old Male Grey
Mickey's funniest thing is grabbing my lips and saying, "NO talking!" also usually when I am talking to her dad. She also laughs after she does something, like throw things off the table...then she will look at us like "well it's funny, laugh people!" She's quite the character.

Our amazon cracks herself up all the time. She will just laugh historically, which becomes very contagious! She will also laugh appropriately at the TV! Our CAG has learned that if I go to a certain door I am going to call the dogs in and has learned the whistle I use, and will call them for me!

Kazi - 13 yr old yellow nape amazon rescue
The funniest thing Kazi says I can't post here! I have a 'colorful' vocabulary and of course he's picked up the worst of the worst from me. I thought I was doing really well, too, not dropping so many MF bombs, but apparently not since he delights in calling us MFers throughout the day. I've opted to only responding with 'What did you just call me?" because I figure that's got to be better than laughing, which is what I did hysterically the first few times he said it.

And now we know why I don't have kids :D

He will also make the squeak of the back door when we open doors. It doesn't matter where, Petco, the microwave, the car, whatever, he'll make the squeaking noise. He'll also toddle over to the laundry room, climb the gate that blocks it off and then yell at me to 'come on! come here! come up!' until I come get him or get close enough for him to climb down the other side to show me, again, what a perfect place he's found for us back there.

Sunny says so many funny things I could take a week to write them and I have already told several on other threads on this forum, but here is a new one. One day I was arguing loudly with my husband and Sunny was sitting on her playstand watching. He finally stomped out of the room and she looked at me and philosphically said "Well, That didn't work" I had to agree.

If im doing things in other rooms, Scarlet will whistle at me (like how we call the dog) and we do it back and forth until I come back in the living room where she is.

Its funny because Ive only had her for about a week and a half and the way she talks is like the lady that had her before, and now she is trying to talk like me. Her "voice" is getting deeper and she is changing how she talks lol. Its wierd.

Im trying really hard to teach her to say "pew pew pew LAZERS!" haha

Our CAG will make a squeky door noise every time we open his cage. He also makes a laser noise which is super funny!

Horsesculpter, that is very funny!

Our Grey cracks us up all the time, and our macaw has a big sense of humor.

I just put Goose-the-Greenwing to bed. One of his toys is sitting on top of his cage (I put it there after he chewed the hanger & it fell to the floor, a couple days ago). Well, he looked a little pathetic, trying to get it through the bars, so I gave it to him. He immediately spit it out, looked at me and whispered, "It fell . . . "

When he pretends he is going to bit me (to see if I flinch) & I reprimand, saying, "In appropriate birdie behavior!" he will often widen his eyes and say, "UH OH!"

And when he sees something unusual or exciting, he will say, "Well, will you look at that?"

And when he & Gilbert The Greyt begin a discussion . . . I laugh 'til I cry.

LOL, Sonny says "Well, will you look at that?" too and usually in a sweet surprised voice after she has let a big splat or thrown something on the floor.Tonight that annoying Vonage ad on TV came on where the couple knocks on the new neighbors door and say in a sweet chirpy voice "Good Morning Neighbor" Sunny looked at them and answered in the same chirpy voice "Good Morning" Other favorite comments include "whats your problem?" "thats a fact" "thats true" "Whats up with that" "whazat?" "What doing?" "where are you?"
All of these things are usually said at very appropriate times.

When the phone rings, all the birds say, "Hello!" and both Gilbert The Greyt & Goose The Greenwing will put their foot by their mouth - as though holding a phone - when they say 'hello.' And when someone knocks on the front door, Goose says, "I'll get it."

Gilbert makes inquiries when I am too focused on my work. The conversation goes something like:

What are you doing?

I'm writing an email.

What are you doing?

I'm still writing the email.

What are you doing?

Working.

What are you doing?

I'm thinking about smacking a little grey feathered a$$ for interrupting me.

[Moments of silence, then . . .]

What are you doing . . . . now?

[As if "now" makes it a different question.]

This is the bird who informed me my name is "Christmas tree." and when I was boxing stuff for donation last Christmas, asked my husband, "is she moving?"

I've mentioned before that my Sparky is not really a vocal bird, the one thing that she does reliably is to say hello whenever the phone rings, this is funny because my ringtones are different for different people and even when it is in the other room and I don't go to answer it. She also has began to practice new words when I am in another room. Sparky and Step up are the new favorites. We are working on some new tricks so I am anticipating some new words. She is really a silly girl.

My conures aren't big talkers. They've got a few phrases and words they use. My Budgie, Spooky, is a huge talker! His favorite thing to yell is "HERE PIG, PIG, PIG, PIG, PIG! SOOOOO-IE!" and more recently I started teaching him "Don't eat my face. Are you on bath salts?" (after that incident in Florida) Now he likes to give me a kiss and tell me "Don't eat my face!" (some garbled rendition of 'are you on bath salts') He'll get it. He's an amazing talker.

Mac, our B&G is a little over 2 and, as of yet, does not have a huge vocabulary.

He'll talk a bunch around us but if other folks are around he won't say anything.

That being said, we were at the Grand Canyon on vacation in May and Mac was in his travel cage in his wagon.

A couple of young ladies walked by and Mac Exclaimed " Hi BABY!!"

Luckily he can't imitate my voice or I'd probably still be sporting a black eye!!:21:
