I loved the pictures of the grey and honey dipper, I know that many of us see our birds use tools. Today Sparky grabbed a small rock, I was trying to take it from her, thinking she might eat it. Instead she proceeded to sharpen her lower mandible using the rock, she knew I wanted it, so when she was done, she handed it to me. So considerate! What do you see your birds using?:blue1:

I see our GW's using their beaks to break in/out of cages, mainly the other bird's cages since they aren't built as strong. I gave up replacing latches on the Zon's cage & just use padlocks on it now.

Now that I said that, I just realized they never mess with the Hahn's cage.:20:

Somewhere on youtube, there's a video of a crow or blackbird shown using "tools" to break into something, it's a really neat video too.

Oddly, while Sparky could get out of her cage, she never has. She is a silly girl. The crows are so resourceful.

Ok, found it, in this one the crow actually MAKES the tool, then uses it!

Wow, its amazing that he values his spear enough to hold on to it while he eats. Goes to show you that they are much more able to reason than people ever gave them credit for.

I've seen Pepper lean over to use the edge of a block of wood on a toy to scratch the top of her head.
