How often do you bathe your birds? Eloy bathe two times a week.

From dry to wet as a drowned rat. :p

Casper a blue fronted Amazon
Casper is like a small boy when it comes to washing, he hates being sprayed and will only tolerate being stood in a bowl of warm water but never plays, just struggles to get back to his cage. The white feathers above his beak are looking decidedly grubby so any tips on how to make bath time fun would be welcomed.

I thought I was the only one who has an amazon who hates their bath! I have tried every way possible to bathe Rocky but she hates them all. I wish I had some advice for you. Maybe Henpecked can give us a way we haven't tried yet?

Noise! A use recorded sound from a rainy rainforest. Works perfect to get them into "bath-mode". Just spray them once, (from above) wait 1 minute, (candy works here too) then try again.
If they not let their wings out, stop spraying them and try another day.
Never give up! This is for their sake.

Ooh rainforest sounds are a great idea! I will look for some to play for her and try that. Ty. She was the most tolerant when I used a spray bottle and let it fall on her but I wouldn't say she enjoyed it like she should have.

Secret & MC, two blue front amazons
I have an Amazon that doesn't care for the mist sprayer. Secret endures it once a week but I knew the parrot wasn't enjoying it at all . . . until last weekend!

When Secret raised one foot high and pointed it at me, I stopped the mist. When the feet hit the stand - the spray mist started again. It's suddenly A GAME! I was having fun just watching the reactions from Secret. I can't wait to see if Secret remembers the game this coming weekend.

Awesome pics!!! I love how sparkly he looks when wet!! Thanks for sharing.

So far every bird i have ever had has been an over-zealous bather--the type of bird who gets water everywhere and can't get enough. I put more clean water in, down the bird goes again to play and spash around (and get water all over my walls and floor, haha)!
i have no idea about Gilbert yet, so if he doesn't bathe on his own, i may need suggestions from everyone! :)
