I have a blanket om Eloys cage for night since he was 12 weeks old.
But now for some night I see that he doesn't want it on so I have been blanket only half of his cage.

How necessary is blanket on the cage for a good night sleep?
Don't mind of me if Eloy wake me up, only answer for Eloys sake.

Not required at all as long as he gets enough sleep and he doesn't want it. Some birds do better with a cover but many do just fine without.

Thanks for answer. :)
Eloy haven't been covered before the 12 weeks so tonight I will cover only 1/4 of the cage. (that side that is lightning from the road)

I have always covered my birds before, but they have been more noisy.

I never cover my cages. It can be dangerous to cover a birds cage. A friend of mine covered her Rosebreasted too and she ended up pulling the cover through the bars, chewing it up and hanging herself and died. They found her in the morning. I have heard of this happening with others also. Out in the wild they r not covered, they sit on a branch, most don't sleep in a nest if they don't have eggs or babies. So not willing to take a chance of hurting on killing my birds, no covers.

So this night Eloy sleeps with no blanket on his cage and he seems to enjoying it.
Thanks Eloy for being so distinct when it's something you don't like! :)
