I just bought a thermo perch for my CAG I brought home saturday. Even with the house at 72 it just does not seem to get warm where is cage is. Before we got him we kept the house at 68 so our heating bill it going to go way up. So I figured we would try it out. I have heard nothing but good about it and I would love to not to have to worry about him being cold all the time and to be able to turn the heat down to at least 70 lol.

I use them for mine. All my birds enjoy it, especially after a bath. It is my CAG's favorite roosting perch!

Some people have safety concerns, however, none of my birds have been able to bite, or crush it and the voltage is low (9V I think). However, a Macaw or Cockatoo perhaps, might be able to destroy it.

I bought a thermo perch in October as it was starting to get freezing up here in New York .it is great ! My birds love it . I also put it in a high spot in the cage so they love the view . Just make sure the bird cat squeeze its beak through the bars to get cord which is highly unlikely as they're is a gigantic piece of plAstic blocking it .

I've only heard good things about it until just recently, I think they look awesome and I wish I lived somewhere colder so I had a excuse to get one XD

Check out this blog post by bird tricks, goes over one of the few risks I've heard about that's worth knowing.

For my parakeets I have those little microwavable heating pads full of buckwheat, and I heat that and place it on top of the cage before I cover it at night to trap some heat.

Thinking about the thermo perch as well, though they're fairly expensive, I don't know which of my birds would need it most, but so far it hasn't been too cold, or at least not too cold I can't manage.
